Johnny Cash Brought the Four Personalities Together Initially In Montreaux, Switzerland in 1984. Every Year He Had a TV Christmas Special and That Holiday Season He Wanted Waylon, Willie and Kris To Come over. They Started Trading Songs in the Hotel after They Worked on the Special. That Lead to Someone Suggesting They Ought To Cut an Album Together. The Highwaymen Were Formed. Chips Moman Was Working with Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash  in Nashville on One Of John's Albums. He Was Recording a Duet to Finish Out the Album. Waylon Little Later Kris Kristofferson Came by. Jimmy Webb Had a Song Called "Highwayman" That They All Liked In Switzerland. And since They Were All in The same Place at the Same Time,they Did a Track of It. The Album Was Underway. The First of Three They Did under the Name of The highwaymen.  The Album Went to #1 on The Country Charts, Had a Hit Single Desperados Waiting for a Train" And Went Gold within a Year of Release. The Group Toured Together Then Returned to the Studios to Record in Early 1990.they Released Their Second Album, "Highwaymen 2" Which Wasn't as Successful as Their First Album. But It Launched the Top 30 Hit "Silver Stallion".In the Spring Of 1995 the Group Reunited to Record Their Third and Final Album, "The Road Goes on Forever" That Album Was the Least Successful Effort To Date. There Were No Hit Singles from It. With Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash's Health Problems the Group No Longer Toured Together.
